HELEN SOH

Forever New Yorker at heart but currently placed in and loving Boston, MA. Plagued with resting friendly face since 1991.   I eat Taco Bell, acquire useless fun facts, skim biographies, and laugh too loud.

JEANNIE WOOH

Aspiring music therapist. Dog-adoring, noodle-loving, Netflix crime documentaries fan. Pineapple DOES belong on pizza, thank you. Shout out to my pup, Bambi.

JON C KIM

A juxtaposition of logical engineer and emotional musician. Avid biker in all seasons. Food and company always equals yes. But most importantly, a ponderer of gravity.

WENXI LIU

Born in China, but grew up in New England. 'Wicked' is synonymous with 'very' and I find myself omitting my r's around other New Englanders. I work with drugs for most of my day. When not at work, you'll usually find me enjoying a hot steaming bowl of noodle soup.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING IN VIETNAM?

Symphony is sending four people (including myself) along with five others from our sister AMI churches, Southland and Tapestry in California.

We will be partnering with the Gospel of Light churches - we'll meet their leaders and be trained by them in our first few days there. Our team will be in charge of a 2-day VBS program for their youth which includes worship, testimonies, games, and skits. The VBS is targeted to youth kids between the age of 14-18. We will also have opportunities to visit other churches, minister, and pray together too!

WHAT IS AMI AND SYMPHONY?

Acts Ministries International (AMIâ„¢) began in 2002 with a group of pastors who had a vision to restore the early church that was seen in Acts 2. It is a community of churches seeking to model the spirituality, vision, and partnership exemplified in the book of Acts. AMIâ„¢ is committed to developing disciples of Christ within our churches, as well as spreading the gospel message to unreached people through church planting and missions work.

Symphony Church, located in Boston, is part of the AMI community. I have been a member since 2014 and have found a home here. It is through the Symphony family that I have accepted the love of Jesus into my life, declaring my faith as my own. I was baptized in December of 2014 and have committed my college years to serving the city of Boston and our church through worship and the Family Group ministry at Gordon.

Hey, there.

MY NAME IS JEANNIE S WOOH.

Yes, my middle name is just one letter :)

I will be graduating from Gordon College this Spring with a degree in Psychology and Music. As I enter this transitional stage in my life, I've been able to reflect and trace God's faithfulness throughout my life. Two years ago, I was sent to Guatemala through Symphony Church and AMI. That trip honestly changed my life - I tangibly experienced the Holy Spirit, confirmed my gifting in worship leading, received a deeper heart of God's children, and most importantly, witness dozens of people accepting Jesus into their hearts for the first time - hallelujah!

Ever since I found out about Pastor Barry's partnership with the Gospel of Light churches in Vietnam, God just placed them in my heart for reasons I cannot quite put into words. I've been partnering with them through prayer, so when the opportunity to go arose, I knew I had to follow the Lord's prompting. I am excited to witness how the Spirit is moving through the local churches in Ho Chi Minh!

HERE I AM, LORD - SEND ME!
